Sensory Street, presented by Autism Pensacola and Regions Bank, is an interactive sensory experience sponsored by community partners who are hosting sensory booths along the inside of the Museum of Commerce. Each station features an activity targeted to a specific behavior associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The event's purpose is to allow a safe space for individuals with ASD to practice learned skills, as well as to offer those who are not on the spectrum a glimpse into the challenges presented by ASD. Sensory Street is a group effort to spread awareness, promote acceptance, and foster inclusion of individuals with ASD into the local community for employment, housing, and education.
