Pensacola Support Group for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

Council on Aging of West Florida has a support group for grandparents raising grandchildren. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 11 at 6 p.m. at Homewood Suites by Hilton, 5049 Corporate Woods Drive, in Pensacola. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month at the same time and location. Other relatives raising children are also invited. Participation is free. Council on Aging of West Florida will provide dinner through Homewood Suites' evening Manager's Reception featuring light dinner fare and salad bar. Council on Aging of West Florida created this group to support the increasing number of seniors and other relatives that are taking on primary childrearing responsibilities. In Florida, 7.1% of children in the state live in grandparent-headed households. There are another 86,000 plus Florida children living in households headed by other relatives.
