Special Olympics Escambia/Santa Rosa is excited to announce its 2nd annual Mardi Gras Fun Run and Walk! With its festive theme, and fun for the whole family, Special Olympics is happy to bring this event to life once again at the majestic Osceola Golf Course in Pensacola to celebrate the Mardi Gras Season while bringing our community together to promote diversity and inclusion. All proceeds benefit our local Special Olympics athletes in their endeavors. Immediately following the Fun Run and Walk, a Finish Line Party - complete with great food, beer, music and family-friendly activities - will be held. Come participate in this unique partnership with Special Olympics to celebrate all of the athletes in our community! This celebration, on Saturday, February 16th, will begin with a 5K Fun Run/Walk on the golf course. Start time will be at 12:00 noon and packet pick-up is available the day and location of the event from 10:30–11:30am or early pick up is available on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm at Bayview Community Center, 2001 E Lloyd St., Pensacola 32503. We need runners and walkers to make this event successful! You can participate in the Run/Walk individually, or with family and friends as a team. Give your team a ''Krewe'' name, designate team colors or costumes, and just have fun with it! The Special Olympics Mardi Gras Fun Run/Walk gives YOU an opportunity to become involved in our community and support hundreds of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
