Gulf Islands National Seashore Candlelight Tour of Fort Pickens

Gulf Islands National Seashore will present ''A Candlelight Tour of Fort Pickens'' on Saturdays, January 12 and February 9, 5:00 - 7:15 p.m. The free tour highlights Pensacola during the Civil War. Visitors must call (850) 934-2635 for tour reservations and arrive 20 minutes before their assigned tour time. Costumed interpreters will present the history of Pensacola during the Civil War at different stations inside Fort Pickens. Groups of 30 visitors will depart the Fort Pickens Visitor Center every 15 minutes for the hour-long tour. Although the fort will be lighted with candles, flashlights are allowed. Dress appropriately for the evening weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Parking is limited so car-pooling is recommended.
