Description

Gulf Islands National Seashore Superintendent Dan Brown announced today a special presentation on the Hispanic heritage connection to the national seashore for Hispanic Heritage Month. The program ''Spain in Pensacola Bay: A Series of Unfortunate Events-307 years of Disasters'' will be at the Fort Pickens Auditorium on Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7, at 11:00 a.m. ''The public is invited to discover the numerous misfortunes of the Spanish people and their connections to the national seashore at this 45 minute auditorium program.'' ''The program will be shown through narrative and photos,'' said Brown. Superintendent Brown encourages everyone to visit the Seashore to join us for our commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The program is free; however there is an $8 entrance fee to the Fort Pickens Area. For more information call the Naval Live Oaks Visitor Center at (850) 934-2600 or visit www.nps.gov/guis.
