CANCELLED! Gulf Breeze Support Group for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

Description

The Council on Aging of West Florida support group for grandparents raising grandchildren on July 24 has been cancelled due to construction at the Oriole Beach Elementary School. The next meeting will be held on August 28 at 6 p.m. at Oriole Beach Elementary in Gulf Breeze. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the same time and location. Other relatives raising children are also invited. Participation is free, including child care. A light meal will be provided at 5:30 p.m. Council on Aging of West Florida created this group to support the increasing number of seniors and other relatives that are taking on primary childrearing responsibilities. In Florida, 7.1% of children in the state live in grandparent-headed households. There are another 86,000 plus Florida children living in households headed by other relatives.
